Far away from overcrowded Aprés Ski miles, winter athletes find the right prerequisites for skiing in the Rofan and Karwendel Mountains. In addition to the family slopes and children’s world, the ski region Achensee also provides FIS-certified professional slopes. 50 km of skiing slopes, spreading across the Rofan cableway, the Karwendel mountain railway and the Christlum ski lifts, provide clear winter sport entertainment. Modern snow-making facilities offer a snow guarantee throughout the whole ski season. Enjoy a comfortable break at the umbrella bars and traditional huts.
Cross-country skiing idyll
The *****cross-country skiing region Achensee disposes over one of the largest and most well-tended cross-country networks in Austria. 150 km cross-country tracks are available in total, many of them with four lanes. In addition to the classic cross-country skiing trails, there are also parallel skating tracks, so that everyone – the beginner up to the cross-country skiing trail enthusiast – can choose the route that corresponds to his or her proficiency level.

Horse drawn carriage rides, 50 km cleared winter hiking paths and snowshoe hiking as in grandfather's times through snow covered forests convey the right portion winter romance which make the vacation a pleasurable experience for the whole family.

Throughout the entire year, the doors of the Sixenhof are open to visitors. The centuries-old farm - like a journey back in time – leads through the country’s history. SUMMER
Summiteers and nature lovers450 km marked hiking trails extend across the region Achensee. The Karwendel Massif, which surrounds the lake in the West, is Europe's largest nature reserve. The Rofan Mountains adjoin with the beautiful landscape around Steinberg in the East. At the car-free west bank, idyllic hiking trails extend to the popular stop-off point “Gaisalm”. Around the Achensee you can also undertake combined lake and ship hikes.
A paradise for bikers and cyclists
The region of Achensee feature seemingly endless hiking and cycling trails. The routes lead along the lake, into the side valleys or on specifically marked mountain bike routes for experienced bikers into the mountain regions.
Golf club Achenkirch
The center of the golf club is the club-house, the Dollnhof, which is more than 300 years old and which has been declared as historic monument. The 9-hole golf course with its incomparable panorama has an extensive driving range, putting and chipping greens.
Achensee – a beach in the Alps
The lake - freely accessible everywhere - is filled by crystal-clear mountain streams. A specifically created promontory in Achenkirch provides for agreeable temperatures in the protected bathing area. Besides swimming, the popular lake offers many more leisure facilities: sailing, surfing, fishing, diving and much more. Especially the eastern bank is a popular sailing and surfing area. Instructions for beginners are offered by the surfing and sailing schools on the spot.
