Vienna is so diverse, fascinating and beautiful, it can hardly be put into words. Opposites come together here, making the city pulsate with life. Be amazed by the atmosphere of old Vienna with its winding streets and the suburbs with their cosy Heurigen wine taverns. The new skyline on the Danube – the modern architecture of the city – is also very impressive. Classic meets modern everywhere: in music, art and even in cuisine.
From schnitzel to high-tech cuisine: it’s all here. Vienna is a cultural melting pot! You’ll find a colourful smorgasbord in the markets and restaurant quarters, where everyone has something different to offer. Everyday life is uniquely Viennese. It is creative, cosy, sometimes loud but mostly characterised by Viennese humour, which is deeply warm but also quite dry.

This magnificent boulevard is 150 years old; the State Opera, Parlament, Rathaus, art and natural history museums, the Burgtheater and Vienna University were all built on the Ring, where earlier the city walls had stood. Various exhibitions are dedicated to this theme. The big wheel and Wiener Prater are of course a highlight for all funfair fans. The 252m tall Donauturm with its rotating restaurant provides fabulous views of the city. The CORDIAL team in Vienna will be delighted to provide you with further details for your sightseeing tour.

Top class. As the City of Music, Vienna offers some of the best in the world on its stages. The Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Boys’ Choir and the State Opera Ballet are internationally celebrated in classical music, and the Goldene Musikvereinssaal and the Konzerthaus are two of the most famous venues for concerts. But music lovers can also enjoy grand performances in churches and in the open air. Operas and operettas, musicals and jazz are all part of the weekly programme, as are pop and rock. Famous actors have learned their art in Vienna. Experience stagecraft on the world-famous boards of the Theater in der Josefstadt, right beside the hotel, or in the Burg, where the big names perform.
A lively art scene has developed over the years in this city on the Danube. Alongside the large and venerable theatres, many cabaret stages and small art theatres characterise the scene. Both classic and modern art can be found in the top-class exhibitions in the Art History Museum, the Belvedere and the Albertina. Vienna has over 100 museums with famous collections and curious exhibits. The Museum Quarter in Vienna is also only a few minutes away from your CORDIAL Theatre Hotel and is one of the ten largest cultural complexes in the world.
It’s all happening in Vienna! Hip clubs, music festivals, new galleries, colourful shops and modern designer markets all make a trip to Vienna very exciting. “Chill” and “enjoy” are the keywords in the trendy restaurants and bars, with a sandy beach along the Danube. Summer brings cinema under the stars in various locations. Music lovers will be attracted to the free music and film festival at the Rathausplatz, with the chance to try out culinary treats. These foodie goodies can also be sampled at the numerous culinary Schmankerl markets or at the autumn and wine festivals. And local brewing tradition isn’t confined to the Weiner Wiesn beer festival. Famous markets such as the Naschmarkt draw visitors with exotic wares night and day. Trendy hotspots under the elevated subway or the techno-cafe in the Volksgarten invite night owls to dance and party the night away.
